Based-on some of the feedback on various sites, I decided to give gamegoods a try. It’s been an utter nightmare. I’m working on almost 20hrs now and haven’t received anything more than “It’s coming” emails from them. I was able to speak with a live-chat rep ONCE, but all he could do was pass my case off to his manager. The issue, they said, was that payment had not been confirmed - oddly enough, I used their preferred payment method (worldpay) and INSTANTLY received payment verification on my end…. They’ve stated “90% in 1-3 hours of payment verification” on their site - I’m working on SIX hours past - with no word from them.Their live-chat is like being in line at the DMV - a constant wait for nothing. I have no idea if I’m going to get what I paid for or not. Further, given the line; “Trust our money-back guarantee if you are not completely satisified.”, some kind of concession is in order - or at least some simple communication as to why it’s taking so long.

I know that site is partnered with this one, but honestly, if I get out of this without involving a Visa rep, I’m going to be surprised…. I’ve got to give their service a solid F, all the way around. Incidentally, I placed a similar order with mysupersales.com and it was delivered in less than an hour with zero hassle.

I appreciate your resposne - I’m back with an update.
    Unfortunately, it’s more of the same run-around, I’m afraid….

There was an email waiting on me when I checked just now - which said that the order had been delivered. Gamegoods delivers via in-game mail per their website, so I logged-in to check there.

Nothing. I had one in-game email from a friend and three from the AH, but nothing with the order from Gamegoods attached. Therefore, I STILL have not received the order I paid for days ago. I sent Gamegoods a final email concerning my order, but haven’t seen any response yet. Unfortunately, I see no alternative except to file fraud charges at this point. They won’t communicate properly with me and their live help has been unmanned for three days now. As a consumer, I have no recourse here, except to involve financial investigation reps. I hate doing it, to be honest - I’ve NEVER had this much trouble buying anything online. I do understand logistics and time-zone issues, but the site -does- have a guarantee - and at this point, I am certainly NOT satisfied. Since I placed this order with Gamegoods, I’ve placed TWO others (same size) with other retailers and those have been delivered without any problem whatsoever.
Actually, I’ve given Gamegoods an out - I asked them to deliver my order by the end of today (which should be May 13 where they are). If they do so, I’ll call it done and that’ll be that. If they don’t - or I get the “we’ve already done so” email that I’d wager is coming - I have no other defense except to contact Visa.
I find all of this rather unfortunate - but again, I refuse to be taken advantage of, as a consumer. The fact remains that I have paid this company for something I have not received from them. I feel that I have been patient enough, as other retailers have made good on their obligations with nowhere near this much hassle. I’d much rather work this out with Gamegoods - but they refuse to make themselves available for discourse via live-chat or email. While it’s true that they have a telephone hotline, I refuse to incur international, per-minute charges to work this out - as would anyone in my situation, I’m sure. The company has my number and should’ve phoned -me- by now. Other retailers do exactly that when there’s a problem. I feel as though I’ve been ignored by these folks, honestly.

I sincerely hope that their management or service department will contact me before tomorrow and make this right. I really, really don’t want to have to go get fraud investigators involved to deal with this…but again, I’m not being left much choice.

  3. Paggett said,

I’d also like to add that I didn’t pay them via paypal, I used Worldpay - specifically because they endorsed it and mentioned that payment via that site would be much faster and more secure - and specifically to AVOID paypal-related delays. I understand the necessity of fraud prevention and that paypal is a bit of a haven for shady-types - but that isn’t me. In fact, so far, I’m on the OTHER end of the scenario you mentioned.

Here’s hoping that this can be ironed-out somehow…

  4. Paggett said,

Update 2: As expected, I got an email saying they’d already delivered it, even though I’ve received nothing at all. They even offered to provide screenshots of the delivery.
I can provide screenshots of having no in-game mail from them too…so I’m not sure what that’d prove. The fact is that I paid them to make sure I got the item - and I haven’t -got- the item as of yet.

I really dislike having to be so negative about the service, but my experience so far has been nothing but that. I was hoping I could retract some of my earlier comments - but I’m afraid they’re all still very accurate, as of the posting of this response.

  5. Paggett said,

    on May 13th, 2007 at 10:01 am

    Update 3:

I finally got connected to someone via the “live-help” chat.

However…they basically said they’d already delivered my order and emailed me screenshots of someone at a mailbox ready to send the item, then another that said “mail sent”, etc.
I sent them a sample of the screenshots I took during the course of the day they said they’d delivered - and was met with “That isn’t sufficient proof”. My response was, “Neither is your shot.”.
I was argued with for about thirty minutes and told that no one was available until tomorrow when I asked to speak with a manager. I was urged to call, internationally, tomorrow to clear things up. When I pressed, I was told to handle it with the bank and file a complaint. Apparently, gamegoods doesn’t care much about customer satisfaction.
In fact, the service rep insinuated that I was scamming the site..when the truth is that I paid this company for something that I have yet to receive from them. That’s rather intolerable, honestly.
So, as I figured, I’m going to have to involve Visa to get this rectified - and I -STILL- won’t get what I originally contracted/paid for.

I’m sure that others have probably had positive experiences with this site, but based-on my own experience, the few dollars you may save there simply aren’t worth the hassle.

    Caveat Emptor.

    Final Update:

    Okay, this FINALLY got ironed-out…

Gamegoods.com doesn’t do business on US servers at all. They DID deliver the order on the UK-based server. However, I play on a US server.

In short, they did deliver - and even sent a bit of a bonus for being late on delivery, but they sent it to some random person with the same name as mine on a UK box. They’ve agreed to give me a full refund - once that’s gone through and I’ve verified it, I’m satisfied.

I still have a bit of an issue with their lack of communication, on the whole, but as they don’t even service US realms, I suppose that’s a bit of a moot point.

One thing I would like to state for the record though, is that a lot of us feel a little paranoid about buying from some of these sites. A.) We want what we paid-for immediately and B.) We’d prefer not to get banned over it… So I feel that our collective irritation is pretty-much justified. EVERYBODY, it seems, is in this business lately and over half of them WILL screw you if they think they can get away with it - I think that’s why a lot of us spew so much venom on blogs like this. In ‘real-life’ business, where you’re face-to-face with a vendor, there’s no way they’re going to be rude - they’d risk getting sued/beaten and they realize that. Online, it should be no different…but consumers need to find some more leverage to keep things even.
I propose a “price table”, listing YTD prices for all sites listed as affiliates….so the community can see how and when the prices at a given site have gone up, question the reasons and, if possible read responses from the vendors themselves.

In this case, GameGoods was able to work with me to find the problem and offered to make it right - good on them! However, it -did- take several days…and the customer service was poor until the last two live-chat session (when it was far better). Even though they probably did the very best they could, it was far from 24/7 and the delivery was not what they stated in their guarantee. That said, in the end, they have agreed to honor their guarantee, even though they were out the product (e.g. sent it to the wrong person), which you’ve got to respect somewhat.

I’d not recommend them if you play on a US server - but if you play on a UK or EU server, and want to use them, you might consider inquiring first, then placing your order. Your experience would probably be different than mine.

Having similar issues buy isk for Eve-Online… some rubbish about having technical difficulties at first, with an immediate email response saying they were doing their best to catch up.

So I thought ‘k, I am a fair man I can leave it a couple of days while they get their act together’ 5 days later still nothing and they haven’t replied to an email since their first one.

As the UK Sales Manager of an influential b2b etailer I was certainly not going to be immediately on their case as to when when they deliver, I was more than prepared to give them a few days for deliver, as long as they gave me a realistic ETA.

Frankly their service has been very poor and will be avoiding using them again in the future - irrelevant of whether this delivery ever turns up. Being a successful etailer is about more than a good website, it’s about customer service and communication with the customer, and while gamegoods.co.uk’s website is quite nice - it aint gonna persuade me to spend more of my hard earn pounds there.

Shame from their perspective really, as this purchase was a test - if it had gone through immediately I’d have placed another order for 5x the amount of money - capital ships engagements are very expensive!!

Yeah, I have to admit I have had pretty much the same issues. The site I used to usednever took longer than 4 hours, but this one seemed cheaper. ‘ve had the usual “It’ll be there by this evening” emails. I also got one saying my payment was received at 11:30am. I put it though at 6pm yesterday, I spoke to the Police Internet Fraud team in South Yorkshire and they are investigating it if nothing has been received by monday (which is fair as maybe its a delay). I have also informed my bank who are in the process of sorting the refund back to my debit card. I still hold a teeny glimmer of hope that I get the WoW gold I ordered, but it is just that… a glimmer. If I do receie my gold I will post here just to give everyone piece of mind ^^ I don’t believe in slating a site just because they’re having a few tech issues. However, lets see what happens.

    Good Luck guys

I purchased 900g for world of warcraft and yet to see the gold. I purchased it on June 13th all the way to the 27th. They kept giving me the run around saying i should see the gold in a few hours and nothing.. every time I get a “where low so hold on and you should see it soon” well 15 days is not soon. I also tried their live support and waited forever to get a rep. They asked me for my order number then never spoke to me again and was disconnected. So I tried again and got the same person and she asked for my order number and disconnected me. So live support sucks on their end. Later I asked for a refund and didnt get it so I took it up with Paypal and still waiting for my $100 dollars.

Gamegoods is the worst ever and I really feel like they robbed me.

I placed an order with gamegoods on July 5th, and received payment confirmation by 11am. After 12 hours, I inquired via email as to the status of my order, and they promptly responded, telling me my gold would arrive “very soon”. I also received the same email Mark posted above. It has been over 60 hours now since I received payment confirmation, and I have heard nothing from them for the past 30 hours, although I have emailed them several times. I also attempted to contact them through their live chat service, but no representatives were ever available to speak with me. Not only that, but I have called their phone service several times over the past three days, and have never gotten through — I consistently get a busy signal, or it rings a few times and then goes to a busy signal.

I filed a complaint with moneybookers, which is the site I payed through, but if my issues are not resolved by tomorrow at 11am, which will have given them 72 hours since their payment confirmation email, I intend to call both the bank, and the police.

I do not recommend using this service, and I feel stupid for even bothering — I could have farmed the amount myself in about half the time, and have avoided all of this trouble to begin with.

  15. Syc said,

placed an order 3 days ago, and have had nothing. Sent mails asking for an ETA, only recieved “very soon” responses, which have proven to be very far from the truth. I had two previous orders with them which were fine, but this is just a nightmare. If it doesn’t arrive sometime soon, it’s going to be a case of having to involve paypal or some such, which I’d really not want to do : (

I strongly reccomend against buying from this service at the time being. Good in the past, horrific now.

Well just got of the phone support, the line connects directly through to a call centre in honkkong, the english speaking guy there was trying to talk over a chinese speaking guy but alas he was being drowned out. told me even though i had waited 24 hours for my 100g delivery id be expecting to wait a further 24hours. not very acceptable for a site that has that much hype, as for the webmaster here , for some reason he keeps deleteing my posts , is he being paid of by this site to keep bad mails quiet???? gamegoods.co.uk is owned by apollonet.com a hongknog company , they are trading under an illegal uk name, according to the trade and commerce laws we got in this country thier shouldnt even be using that name as a website as even their UK number diverts straight through to hongkong, dont believe me? phone it the dial tone is international. id say dont buy gold from them even through all this smopke and daggers about recent issues, it seems they are still having those issues.

Reply from BuyWoWGold: we dont make rumours or attacks made by anonymous writers. Also, apollonet.com is a domain parking-page. Are you sure about this? I think GameGoods is a serious company; but as every other company they surely have divisons in asia. If they can outsource farming, why not also outsource help desks - everyone is doing it to cut costs.

We realise you are upset, but I do not think Gamegoods are scamming you, please calm down and  take a deep breath. 24 hours isnt a long time in this business.

And finally, no, we are not paid of by gamegoods in anyway except that we recieve a small commission on orders made on their website if the buyer came from here. that is the case with every other company here aswell. The goal of the blog is to help find buyers the best places to buy wow gold. And I still think Gamegoods is one of those.

  17. john said,

    on July 17th, 2007 at 7:17 am

well this is an update i spoke again with the guy in china, he said they are experiencing the same issues they had before with stock shortages, im now expecting a 72 hour delay on 100gold. so if gamegoods comes recommended then i suggest we might as well hunker down and wait a long time for a pathetic amount of gold which could be farmed ourselves much quicker.

p.s as for anonymous uhm….what else do you want? my last name etc etc? register the users on this site if you want to whinge about that. imho gamegoods is a scam site and anyone to tell me different needs to see a shrink, you wouldnt pay someone at a shop for an item that took 72 hours to get to you. you would put a deposit down and wait like normal people and not pay the full amount and get sorry we cannot deliver as a reply.

July 14- ordered 750 gold on a US server, got 290 within 2 hrs in mail.
Since then 4 false emails claiming full delivery. They blame: large orders, stock shorteges, aggressive GMs, etc, etc. Now they claim screenshots of delivery, yet they couldn’t produce any.
Gamegoods is a joke, they will rip you off and after you wait 20-30 mins for Live Chat support they will disconnect you when you ask for a refund.

I mean i’m being patient and haven’t complained about the long wait yet but wtf? The long wait for support ending up only to be a minute long and no response from e-mails sent to them.. i’m beginning to think that i got scammed. i hope no one else gets screwed over like i did. gamegoods is a horrible provider and i hope paypal can do something about this.

I’m also having problems with GameGoods. It’s now been over 3 weeks since I’ve placed my order and I’ve received many of the mails above. Fed up of being led on by their continuous promises, I opened a dispute with PayPal. A few hours later, I received a mail from GameGoods claiming that my gold had already been delivered. They haven’t made any official response to the PayPal dispute though. Obviously my gold *hasn’t* been delivered, so I’ve given them another 24 hours - double their proposed maximum delivery time - to get it sorted. If not, I’ll just have to escalate to a PayPal claim. What a pain in the ***. The whole experience has reeked of unprofessionalism. Prospective buyers, you’ve been warned - use GameGoods at your own risk!

I suspect that due to the targeting of this website that certain people are indeed competition here and this therefore means is only slander. If other companies out there were legitimate companies such as GameGoods they could face penalties for this, however they will always fight unfair and put other companies down rather than continue to improve their own service. Cowards.

All you want is a bit of honesty. If they said to me it would be 2 to 3 days before delivery, then i wouldn’t be worrying about my payment.
A stock level would be good, to see if they have it prior to ordering ?

Gamegoods will rip you off! They make a partial delivery then have a thousand excuses for the rest of your order. They send you email after email that you order has been delivered but nothing ever comes. Then they blame Blizzard, say sorry we can’t help you and offer a screenshot as proof of delivery. I have asked to see that screen shot 3 times to verify but they can not produce one! It has been 3 weeks and they will not fill my order, online support will cut off your session rather than help you. Avoid Gamegoods or they will rip you off too.

Do not deal with Gamegoods! The cheap price and 10% discount looks great but they do not fill the orders.
My order has taken over 3 weeks now. At this point they do not answer email to support, they terminate your session with online support. They offer no option for any sort of refund. They take your money send a partial delivery and tell you there is nothing else they can do. Paypal does not want to get involved because they send a partial delivery- ‘work it out with the seller’. Learn from my mistake.

I have ordered 6 times now from gamegoods and have recieved 2 out of 6 within the 6-12 hours time frame.one took over 48 hours but it did arrive.
As for support,i find the live help usless as i only ever recieve basic info like “your order is on the way” and all the emails are automated except for a few which have been sent by a real person after i have complained about them.
I will prob continue to use these as i have had no real problems, just a few late arrivals but the details on the site are false and the delivery times are way off.

WoW (excuse the pun) this info looks so fake! How am I meant to believe any of this. Support is from Hong-Kong? When I ran up it was a German number!!! My site is affiliated with them and I always make sure my affiliates are legit before I host their banners. I have called their support many times and found in french, german and english their support was authentic and accent free - I wouldn’t usually care, but notice how its the same people with the same names like “john” “HC” and “sparky” who is even promoting his company, always saying the same stuff, either they’ve got all the time in the world and should get a life, or are doing this professionally. Study the writing mannerisms, of the negative input, its basically the same people using the most common names in the Western language. If you’re really looking to buy WoW Gold, look at what the biggest sites are - type WoW Gold in google.de and google.fr /co.uk I think you’ll find your answers, don’t believe a word that’s said on sites like these as it could be anyone writing it.

well it took them 7 days to deliver 100g to me,i had considered ordering more but to be honest they would probably make me wait a month at that rate for bigger order of gold.

Well Peter this is HC. I didn’t give my name becasue I don’t want to be banned, but since you asked I’m Henry Campbell.
My reviews are negative because I got very bad service. I placed an order for 750 gold and got 290 gold. They refused any refund and claim to have delivered the balance many times. They offer a screenshot as proof but have not emailed it though I have asked 6 times. So again I say they are a rip off it has been over 7 weeks and I will never see the rest of my order. They stole from me and I’m trying to warn people.

I bought 100g from them over a week ago. After hassle regarding their inability to recognize that I had sent the payment, I have now received numerous emails telling me that they are sorry for not sending the gold yet but are working at it.

Guess who I won’t be buying gold from again.

This seems to be a reoccuring thing with this company. I have had the complimentary screenshots and no delivery. So I have had to raise a claim with paypal and also in form The ASA to advise of false advertising and misleading information. I would seriously not reccommend using this company I have used others before and not had a problem. Misguided by quotes on this company website…Bah.

I would stay well clear from this company…

    hi
i would like to state that i am having similar experiences with GAMEGOODS.
When i try to chase up my order they hang up however they were very helpful up until their 12 hours guarantee ran out.
I haven’t had a reply to any of the 3 emails I’ve sent so far. And their phones never seem to be answered.
I only spent £3 on som ISK just to minimise first time buyers risk, but despite the small amount of money I am still vexed over the situation.
Obviously the people running this site will not go against GAMEGOODS and explaining about supply of gold and bans is all very well but a guarantee is a guarantee.
Its pretty bad to fail a guarantee but to fail delivery is just plain theft.

To the readers of this site if you are deciding whether to use GAMEGOODS then I suggest you don’t. I am going to place another order today and will post the results of that.

    Thanks

hi i have received my order from gamegoods. it was late and more importantly the support was poo.
i ordered from tradehomeland and got a similar order within an hour .
I think most people would be very forgiving of late orders etc if only they informed properly of the situation.
The market is dodgy at best an lack of proper communication make you fear the worst.

Three months, and several emails later, I am still without my gold. I was sent the same mass-mailed ‘Sorry for the problem, we are passing this on to our head of department who shall deal with the case personally” rubbish three times in the space of two days. Their live chat is useless, and they have ignored every email I have sent in the past two months/

I shall file a complaint with paypal, and also contact ASA (as another person suggested). The only reason that I chose gamegoods was due to their affiliation with this site, so thanks for that…

John we don’t even have an email that says anything about a head of some department. So either you are talking about the wrong gold site, you are just making it up, or you are from one of our competitors writing negative comments hoping it will harm us. And giving this site the blame is just cheap.

You can say what you like. The WoW Gold industry is in change and Blizzard is not making it easy.
However if there is one thing I can promise, it is that you are not being scamed here on GameGoods. We are a European company that is unable to pull off some stuff that they come up with in China. If we can’t deliver and you are not satisfied you can get your money back anytime!

I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for 100g. I’ve been on live support twice and have been told ‘please hold on one moment while I check your order status’ after waiting a few moments I recieve ‘we are currently restocking your server and you should see your gold by the end of the day.’

4 days later i am still waiting. I log into live chat and I seem to have discovered an operator who is NOT automated asking for my online hours. Apparently now orders are delivered face to face.

“As a consequence of the implementation of our new delivering process (face to face trade), we would like to ask you to send us a schedule of hours and days of when you will be online, ready to collect the gold! In the time frame you provide us, one of our agents will whisper you as soon as availability permits it, so that you can go to one of the meeting places (Goldshire for Alliance and Ratchet for Horde)”

I am told to log in and wait. All day. Tied to waiting for my gold on one character when I have alts. I will update if I recieve any such luck today.

As anticipated, no such luck. I have been sitting on this character since yesterday and still no whispers. What great service.

My experience with game goods had been a nightmare. Ordered eight days ago, since when its numerous ‘please be patient’ ‘please wait a little longer’ They advertise a fast service but all they want is your cash. The phone line numbers they give you are unobtainable. The live chat takes hours to get through then your fobbed off with cut and paste standard replies. Dont touch this lot with a barge pole. Total nightmare.
